This links to the story of a new employer database that allows employers to see if employees have ever been convicted of a crime at a previous job.
What do i find absolutely disgusting about this?
-The obvious orwellian state questions with this type of database
-It goes against the principle of innocent until proven guilty
-Whats so wrong with the current system of interviews and CRB checks that are legally valid (rely on more than the employers word against the employees)
-The problems of abuse that WILL HAPPEN make no mistake ill say it again THIS WILL BE ABUSED BY MALICIOUS EMPLOYERS
-It could be me or you blacklisted by a bad boss andbasically rendered unemployable
Thats right you could be rendered unemployable by a false allegation by a malicious boss.
This is the first time i say this but it will be said everytime i write about data protection issues
It shows a paranoia by everybody in power that goes totally against the liberal society we live in where everyone should have the right to be taken as a blank slate. While governments and those in power may one day become irrational and abuse the power that they have (knowledge is power and centralised data is knowledge) so individuals who have been bad in the past may become better and even if they dont what they have done in the past should not be brought up to stain someones current character.
Thanks for stumbling across this persons thoughts
Reading my first post, and this post, try and profile my thoughts, am i a narcissist?
